Dr. Claudia Fernandes Nisa, Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science at the Global Health Research Center of Duke Kunshan University, has recently been awarded a research grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for the year 2025. Her research project is scheduled to commence on January 1, 2026.
Nisa’s research focuses on the effectiveness of behavioral interventions aimed at helping people live healthier and more sustainable lives. She studies interventions that promote energy savings, reduce food waste, increase cancer screening rates and blood donation. She is dedicated to translating behavioral science research into practical applications and supporting the development of more scientifically informed and effective policies.

Dr. Claudia Fernandes Nisa
Dr. Nisa earned a bachelor’s degree in social and organizational psychology and a master’s degree in Economics and Social Policy at the University of Lisbon. She also holds a Master’s in Decision Science and Ph.D in Social Policy at the London School of Economics. She held postdoctoral positions at the ETH-Zurich in Singapore and at New York University Abu Dhabi.
