Wanbing Gu’s poster won the Poster Presentation Award of the 27th Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension, while the Research Hub of APO on Health Policy and System hosted by GHRC has been awarded USD 260,000 to support three new research projects from 2018 to 2019.
The Global Health Program organized campus events for World Heart Federation Emerging Leaders Program and World Heart Day.
The Project Results National Dissemination Workshop “Achieving UN Health Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in China by 2030: Developing Evidence-based Policy Options for Action” was held at the China World Hotel in Beijing on May 5, 2018. The event was organized by Duke University and Duke Kunshan University with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Research Department of Social Development, Development Research Center of the State Council.
China has achieved impressive progress toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) launched in 2000, paving the way to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030. However, a recent analysis revealed that the country will face challenges in meeting the health-related SDG targets established in 2015.
Grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was given to Professor Shenglan Tang and his team at Duke Kunshan University to help China meet the United Nations’ health sustainable development goals and the Chinese government’s ‘Healthy China 2030’ targets.
