Ahead of World Tuberculosis Day (March 24), leading infectious disease expert Professor Wenhong Zhang delivered a keynote at Duke Kunshan University (DKU) on March 20, highlighting the humanity’s battle against tuberculosis (TB), AI in healthcare, and personal career development. Professor Wenhong Zhang currently holds the roles of Director at the National Medical Center for Infectious Diseases and the Director of Infectious Diseases Department at Shanghai Huashan Hospital.
The widely known celebrity doctor drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 400 attendees to the 200th “This is Global Health” Symposium.

Duke Kunshan University recently announced that Dr. Fujie Xu, who has nearly 30 years of experience in public health research and project management, will become the co-director of the Global Health Program in January 2025.

On August 27, 2024, the symposium, titled “Are We Ready for the Next Pandemic?”, brought together experts and scholars from Peking University, the World Health Organization (WHO) China Representative Office, and Wuhan University. They shared insights and reflections on global, regional, and China-specific pandemic preparedness with DKU faculty, students, and healthcare professionals from Kunshan healthcare sector.
