Two distinguished alumni from the MSc-GH Program have recently authored two significant policy briefs published by the World Health Organization, focusing on smoke-free legislation and sugar-sweetened beverage policies in China.

A breakthrough study led by Professor Lijing Yan from the Global Health Research Center at Duke Kunshan University, in collaboration with the Chronic Disease Center at the Chinese CDC, was published in The Lancet Regional Health—Western Pacific. The study represents the first national-level assessment of the effect of implementations in the National Demonstration Areas for Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases on residents’ health behaviors.

Dr. Ming Gu, Assistant Professor at Duke Kunshan University’s Global Health Research Center and Social Sciences Division, recently published a study in SSM – Population Health titled The Power of the Family in Times of Pandemic: Cross-Country Evidence from 93 Countries.

Professor Qian Long has been recognized for her significant contribution to the project titled “Development and Application of a Comprehensive Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Model Based on the Integration of Medical and Preventive Care”, which was awarded third prize in the “2023 Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (CPMA) Science and Technology Award”.
