
World Heart Federation Emerging Leaders Program
On June 24-29, in the fifth cycle of the Emerging Leaders Program, the World Heart Federation new cohort of Emerging Leaders from 18 countries have come together as experts to tackle the challenges faced in daily practice in preventing, treating and managing Stroke patients at Duke Kunshan University. The 25 participants, worked together in their research teams of Stroke prevention, treatment and rehabilitation formulated the research questions and submitted their final proposals for the Salim Yusuf Emerging Leaders grant to further their research.
World Heart Day Campus Event
On September 27, the Duke Kunshan Master Science in Global Health and Global Health Research Center organized the first-ever annual event World Heart Day on campus. The theme this year was “My Heart, Your Heart”. The organizer aimed to utilize this event to raise awareness of heart disease risks, promote heart-healthy lifestyle and enhance the profile of global health within and beyond DKU. They displayed five stations in the Academic Building lobby to engage students, faculty, staff, shuttle bus drivers, cleaners, gardeners and canteen staff during lunch time. The five stations are “Stay active for a strong heart”, “Quit Tobacco”, “One mile walk” ,“Find your heart age” and “Maintain a heart-healthy diet”.
