Seven Students, Four Projects, selected for the DKU Innovation Challenge!

Duke Kunshan University recently launched the 5th Duke Kunshan University Innovation Challenge (“DaChuang”), centered around the theme of “Innovation · Connection.” The competition spurred a new generation of creators to look beyond what they build and consider how innovative thinking can open doors to wider impact. Out of a strong field of entrants, 29 exceptional projects progressed to the final round, earning seed funding or research grants. Notably, four of these winning teams included undergraduate and graduate students from the Duke Kunshan Global Health program. Their success underscores the program’s strength in fostering interdisciplinary innovation and equipping students to tackle complex, real-world problems.

Integrating Primary and Community-Based Care to Improve Global Cardiovascular Health

The internationally leading cardiovascular journal, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC, Impact Factor = 22.4), recently published a special issue on the Global Burden of Disease (GBD). The issue features a viewpoint article titled “Improving Global Cardiovascular Health by Integrating Primary and Community-Based Care”, led by Professor Lijing Yan from the Global Health Research Center at Duke Kunshan University.

Symposium Recap | How to Prepare for the AI Era in Global Health? 

The 4th session of the “This is Global Health!” Symposium Series (Fall Semester), hosted by the Global Health Research Center at Duke Kunshan University, concluded successfully on November 21. Centered on the theme “How to Prepare for the AI Era in Global Health?”, the event featured a keynote address by Professor Tien Yin Wong—Professor & Senior Vice-Chancellor of Tsinghua Medicine and Vice-Provost of Tsinghua University (Beijing, China), and an international authority in ophthalmology. Offline attendees included faculty, students, and members of the Kunshan Health Commission Delegation, while a global online audience also joined this interdisciplinary dialog to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with global health.
